If you feel like you are ready to start reselling hosting then you have come to the right place. With an investment of as low as about $20 per month you can start reselling hosting. I once decided to start reselling hosting and within about 24 hours I had already sold my first package. I decided to start my reseller account through Just Host because they have a great, long history and the price for the space you receive is one of the best deals out there. There are a bunch of different companies you can go with but, I am kind of bias towards just host because, that is who I have been using for year. Here you can find our reviews of other hosting programs***

Sign up with Just Host as a Reseller.***

When I joined I made my initial payment of $25 or so, and I was sent all of the information needed to get started. Here are the simple steps that must be done once you purchase your hosting resellers account.

Obtain a Domain Name

The nice thing about Just host was that they made it easy for me to obtain a domain name and it was free. Not only that, they automatically connected my domain name to my account.

If you are not using Just Host for your reseller account and, are signed up with one of the many other providers*** you can simply purchase a domain name from either that hosting provider (if they sell domains) or from Go Daddy** once you purchase a domain name you can transfer it you’re your reseller hosting account by changing your DNS server names on your domain name to point towards your hosting account. It may sound difficult but it really is a piece of cake and will take about 5 minutes. Since I do not know what resellers account you signed up for I won’t be able to help you with pointing the DNS servers towards your hosting. Most reseller accounts have the option of getting a domain name with it so I suggest using the ones that have that feature to avoid the hassle.

Website Template

There are multiple routes you can take for getting a template. You can create your own, have someone create on for you, buy a premade one or obtaining a free one*** Which ever method you choose will work but, make sure that your template goes with the theme of your hosting and looks nice. The template will be the first thing people will see when they log onto your hosting website so I must emphasize, MAKE It NICE!

Packages

Once you have your reseller account it is time to make packages for your account. You need to split up your bandwidth and disk space you were provided in your reseller account into packages that people can buy for X amount of money. For my first hosting resellers account I split my 50GB of Disk space and 500GB of Bandwidth into 50 different packages and sold them for $10 each. It made out for a good profit of $480 a month. You can split the packages up however you want.

Start Marketing

This is probably the hardest part for any business. How do you get your business out there and sell to everyone? Well, first off go to your facebook, twitter, you tube and any there social networking site and tell all of your friends you can make them a website for free and then hosting it for $10 a month. A lot of people will jump all over this and contact you immediately. There are plenty more ways to market your hosting just check out our marketing section.**

No that you have your monthly package and you have your website template you can resell as many packages as your heart desires. And you can potentially make as much money as you would like. The next step is marketing your hosting business…***

As I stated earlier in 2resellhosting it is essential to have a business plan. Now when I say business plan I do not mean something super complex, it can be typed up simply on your computer in the comfort of your home. If you are planning on keeping your hosting business relatively small aka. Just you or you and a couple partners then it is especially quick and easy to write a business plan.

The reason I write a business plan whenever I start a new venture because it is something that keeps me actively pursuing my goal. With out a plan and set goal, you will never achieve them. Down the road when things get tough, and you want to quick you can always look back to your business plan to regroup yourself and re motivate yourself towards your original goal.

The first part of your business plan should be a summary of what you are doing with your business. So in this case you would write about what type of hosting selling you want to do and what audiences you want to target.

Second and most important is to state your goal. One goal you are probably headed towards is money. Well, I recommended writing down an amount of money you would like to see coming in from online hosting every month, by the end of the year. If you do this you will always have something to look back at to keep you on track. How many customers would you like to have by the end of the first month? 3 months? 6 months? Year? Do you wish to have employees helping you sell? Anything you want to see come out of your hosting business should be listed under the goals section of your business plan.

Next I suggest writing down a brief summary of how you are going to execute your business goals. What are you going to do every day to make XX amount of money and so on?

Forth, write about your marketing. You can find more about marketing your hosting in our marketing section*** list all of the ways you plan on selling your hosting. Do you plan on giving it away? Do you plan on paying for advertising or are you going the free route***?

Next you should write your operating details. This is essential it will be basically a daily planner of what you are going to do each and every day. This can include the numbers of hours you are going to put into reselling hosting, it could include the amount of time you want to market your reseller hosting, and it can also include daily upkeep of the hosting** making sure everything is running smoothly. It is important to have a daily agenda so you stay on track. In this section I recommended breaking down the steps it is going to take to reach your goals.

Last but not least, write a conclusion to your business plan. Even throw in some of your thoughts about how excited you are to start this reseller business. If you throw in thoughts of how excited you are you will be able to look back and be reminded how excited you were at the start. The reason I keep saying it is good to look back at your business plan is because, with everything you do in life there are rough patches where you do not want to continue doing it anymore. Whether it is sports, blogging, or reselling hosting it always happens. To go a long with the business plan it is good to keep a daily or weekly journal, which may sound dumb, but I have found that it has real helped me out in my success of everything I do.

I wanted to reiterate that what I explained about is not an official business plan or anything like that but it is a good personal business plan that will keep you on track and keep you motivated towards your goals.

Reselling hosting has its perks definitely. It is extremely easy to start and extremely easy to stop. It costs about $20 per month to start a reseller’s account and it is well worth it to say the least. For $20 a month you will get a certain amount of Bandwidth and disk space that you can resell for a profit. Earlier in another post I talked about the break down of the disk space and bandwidth. If you were to get a package with 500GB of bandwidth and 50GB of disk space and break it down into 50 different packages you would make $500 a month if you sold the packages at $10 a piece.

What’s so great about reseller hosting is you can sell it for whatever price you want. So say you resell each of those 50 packages for $20 a piece instead of $10 a piece per month, you make twice as much.

How can you sell for more?

Well a lot of people will pay top dollar if you are willing to do all of the set up for them. So If you go to a local business and tell them you will set up a nice blog for them and do everything for them, they would be willing to pay any where from $20-$100 a month, because they simply do not know how to set up a website and hosting nor do they want to spend the time doing it. Most business are swamped with things to do, and they know that they need to get their business online but they do not want to go through the hassle of all of the learning.

Imagine this…

Instead of selling all 50 of those packages for $10 a month, you went around to businesses and set up websites for them and sold them their package for $50 a month. Now 50 multiplied by 50 are $2,500 a month that you will have of revenue.

Now this isn’t as easy as it sounds but it a whole lot easier than working a 9-5 job. If you want to read more about selling hosting to ***local businesses check out our local business sales entry.

So really there are many different ways to make money with selling hosting but the basic gist of it is that you will be purchasing X amount of space from a hosting company from anywhere from $20-100 a month and you will be re selling that hosting to people. You will need to figure out a price you would like to sell each plan for. One great thing about reselling hosting is that you can have multiple planes. For example you can have a business plan, an economy plan, and a starter plan, all with different prices and all different sizes.

It is key to make a website for your hosting company and make sure that it looks as professional as possible because this is where everyone is going to go when they here about your hosting opportunities. The websites are not hard to come across, there are plenty of free*** hosting templates that you can use for your reseller hosting account.

The money to be made with reseller hosting is limitless but it does take work.

Reseller hosting is one of the best ways to work from home. It is a very profitable business since, every single website on the Internet has to purchase a monthly hosting package at one point and has to pay a monthly amount for it. You probably already know the advantages of reseller hosting that is why you are at this page.

With thousands and thousands of websites opened daily, they all need a place to host their website. Hosting usually costs anywhere from $5-$20 depending on the provider and how much space comes with the hosting package. When you become a reseller of hosting you are using a companies hosting space and re selling it to other people. Most reseller packages cost about $20 for a basic starters package. More extreme packages cost anywhere up to $100 a month.

You are basically becoming an affiliate for a hosting company such as Just host. When you buy a package you can resell the hosting space for whatever price you want and set the packages to whatever size you want.

For example:

If you purchase a starter package of reseller hosting for $20 per month, and you receive 50GB of Disk space and 500GB of Bandwidth, you can split all of this space up into a lot of different packages and sell them individually. It is always good to make a business plan** before you start with reseller hosting. If you decided to sell hosting package for $10 a month and each package included 1GB of Disk Space and 100GB of Bandwidth you would make…

$500 a month – $20 (price you pay for the reseller account) = $480 of profit monthly, from selling only 50 hosting packages. Now that is not a hard number to reach at all with all of the methods I reveal on this website like, ***selling hosting with You Tube, selling to local businesses, Giving away free websites + More.

50 sales is something that could be accomplished in your first 30 days. Now rinse and repeat. After you get your first 50 sales, move on to the next batch of sales. The next month maybe go for 60 sales. Just remember that you will still be receiving income from the previous month of sales. To clarify, you made 50 sales the first month, in January and made $500 off those sales, the people who bought the hosting for their website will have to pay the $10 month after month to keep their hosting; so you will get another $500 from those first 50 hosting packages back in January in February as well! But don’t forget about the 60 sales you had in February, your second month. The 60 sales you had in February, all for $10 each which brought in $600 more dollars of revenue – the new $30 a month for reseller hosting = $570 from February sales. Now add $570+$480 up which equals $1,050 and hat is how much you would have received your second month in business, and if you were to stop reselling hosting at that very moment you would continuously earn $1,050 net profit every single month for the rest of the time you owned your hosting account (forever.)

Not too shabby for a couple months of hard work, huh? Well imagine if you made this your full-time job (4 hours a day) and made a consistent 50 sales a month for the next year. You would be making a recurring net income of over $6,000 a month.

I hope you are excited to get started with reseller hosting, here at 2resellhosting you will find every thing you need to know to not only get started with reseller hosting but, to become extremely successful with it.
